Nancy YangSupported by four decades of professional excellence in the arts, Nancy L. Yang is the former president of the Pastel Association of Taiwan, an elected member of Allied Artists in America and a member of Audubon Artists, Inc. Additionally, she is proudly affiliated with the Pastel Society of Spain, the Pastel Society of America and the North America Pastel Artists Association. At the beginning of her career, Ms. Yang has found success through her work with the State University of New York at Purchase, where she had worked as an analyst and the director.

An expert in her field, Ms. Yang pursued an education at the University of California Berkeley, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1970. She concluded her studies at the aforementioned academic institute in 1971, graduating with a master’s degree. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of heading the 2014 and 2017 International Invitational Pastel Exhibitions in Taiwan, and receiving her first international award from ASPAS in 2011. Over the years, Ms. Yang has accepted a plethora of accolades for her work, including a Silver Award, Richard Pionk Memorial Award, Artemiranda Award and the J. Smith Memorial Award. For her professional accomplishments, she was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Likewise, she has been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in America. Looking toward the future, she intends to experience the continued success of her career.

In 2021, Ms. Yang’s  piece “Bountiful X” won The Pastel Society of America Award for Pastel at AAA’s 108th Annual Show.
 
The show is for multimedia – oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, graphic and sculpture.  It showed at Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Ave., New York, NY.

Major Events in 2020 and 2021

1. 5th International Biennial Pastel Exhibition in Spain
    03/06/20 – 03/22/20, Oviedo, Spain
 
Taiwan and Japan were the two featured countries and Ms. Yang was the coordinator for selecting the artists and their paintings of Taiwan for the show.  Ms. Yang was also one of the judges for the awards and a keynote speaker at the opening.  Moreover, they used my painting for the poster, cover of the catalog and the invitation card.
 
It was the third time she went to Oviedo, Spain.
 
 
2.The Sixth International Pastel Artists and the Japanese Multiple Media Invitational Exhibition
   10/07/2020 – 11/01/2020
 
Ms.Yang co-planned and co-executed the show.  Artists from 15 countries participated.  Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, none of the honored guests could come.  Nevertheless, it was a rare and successful show at the time!
 
 
3.  Float Light in Moment of Beauty
     Still Life Art Charity Exhibition (3/11/2021 – 4/4/2021)
     Chan Liu Art Museum, Taipei, Taiwan
 
Ms. Yang was one of the 25 contemporary artists that Chan Liu Art Museum invited to participate in the event.  Each artist donated one painting for the charity (Art Therapy run by the Museum) and they all sold out! Each of the artists had another two paintings with the museum’s own famous collections for the show.  It went well.
 

Chan Liu Art Museum is one of the most famous Art Museums in Taiwan.
